Background:
A friend of Devin's since childhood, Ellis served his apprenticeship without interruption, and is now a well-respected elemental mage. He makes ends meet by running a small used book store, which, of course, sells tomes of magic as well as rare and out-of-print mundane volumes. He's become more of a presence in Devin's life as of late; as the strangeness of the paper-mage's life continues to deepen, his need for a steady friend will only grow.

Ellis had a pretty normal childhood, until his best friend Devin Mercure's father was murdered, and his parents adopted the boy. Since then, Ellis has taken the dual role of an older brother and best friend, content to be in the shadow of the more charismatic, but erratic, Mercure. A gifted musician in his own right, his contribution is no less important to the band, even if he prefers to be less flashy than the other members.
